MW4 Cheats Aimbot Explained: Smoothing, FOV and Settings

An aimbot is only as good as its settings. This guide explains smoothing, FOV, bone selection and target priority in plain terms.

An aimbot takes over some or all of the work of tracking targets. In theory that sounds simple. In practice, how it behaves depends almost entirely on a handful of settings, and understanding them is the difference between something that feels natural and something that looks obviously automated.

What an aimbot actually does

At its core, an aimbot reads the position of enemy players and moves your crosshair toward them. Different products handle this in different ways, but the settings you can control are fairly consistent.

Smoothing

Smoothing controls how quickly your crosshair moves to a target. Low smoothing snaps almost instantly. Higher smoothing moves more gradually, which looks closer to a person tracking an enemy. If you care about not drawing attention in killcams or spectated games, higher values are the usual starting point.

Field of view

The aimbot FOV is the area around your crosshair in which it will look for targets. A small FOV only acts on enemies close to where you are already aiming. A large FOV will grab targets across more of the screen. Smaller values tend to feel more subtle, while larger values are more forceful.

Bone selection

This setting decides where on a player the aim is directed, such as head, neck or chest. Head targeting is the strongest but also the most noticeable. Many players choose chest or a mix to keep results consistent, especially at distance.

Target priority

Priority decides which enemy gets targeted first. Common options include closest to crosshair, closest by distance or lowest health. Pick what suits your play style. Close range fights often work well with distance priority, while longer sightlines suit crosshair priority.

Keybinds and triggers

Good products let you choose when the aimbot is active, for example only while holding a key or aiming down sights. Always on setups are easier to detect by eye. Hold to aim setups give you more control.

Practical tips

  • Start with conservative values and adjust one setting at a time
  • Save your config so you can compare changes
  • Test in less competitive lobbies before relying on it in matches you care about
  • Remember that rage style settings increase the chance of reports and bans

No setting makes cheating risk free. If you are comparing products, look for adjustable options rather than a single preset. You can see the available controls on the MW4 Cheats cheats page, and our ESP and wallhack guide covers the visual side of the menu.
